“I’m just having an experience”
Astral said while fiddling with his rings, priceless heirlooms from his late Grandmother Patricia.

Born Derrice Jackson, in Bitburg Germany, Astral recalls his first glimpses of music coming from albums like The Marshal Mathers LP
and Ready to Die by Biggie Smalls.

“I probably had the song Kim memorized by the time I was 5 years old; I wasn’t sheltered from the world at all” Astral says.

Living in Wilmington Delaware, nicknamed Murdertown USA at the time, Astral would stay out all night roaming the streets with his friends, oblivious to the dangers around him.

“My friends have always been my primary support system, I really don’t know how I would’ve ended up without them”

This was a key pattern in Astrals life, post high school, Astral Jack was living on the streets of Las Vegas, immersed in the skateboarding community.

“I would pretty much spend all day at the skatepark, and once night rolled around I would sleep on the couches of my friends or just thug it out outside”

“I started sleeping over at one of my skater homies house every other weekend, which turned into a summer, which turned into a year”

“The homie had an old MacBook Air riddled with viruses, to the point where you couldn’t refresh a page without it crashing. I ended up downloading a Mac cleaner and got it working again. Since he hardly used the computer due to it being fucked up, he had no problem with letting me hold it hostage”

Hours turn to days turn to years, Astral Jack has been meticulously honing his craft, enough to inspire others around him to do the same.

Flash forward to the present moment, Astral Jack has an entire catalog of sounds to choose from, ranging from 90’s Boom Bap to modern Hip-Hop, EDM, Alternative Rock, Indie, and more.

“I’m not really sure what’s to come of this journey, but I’m happy to be apart of it all. I’m just having an experience”
